Sue studied medicine at Otago University , graduating in 1986. After hospital training in Hawkes Bay ( including completion of Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology) she spent a year in London, travelling and doing locum work.
“Family Medicine always appealed to me and I completed my General Practice training in Christchurch, joining a practice there for 4 years, During this time I delivered babies, and developed a special interest in children’s and women’s health. In 1994 my husband’s job saw us move to Auckland. I joined St Heliers Medical in 1995 and have enjoyed being part of the St Heliers and Glendowie community ever since. All aspects of General Practice appeal to me; in particular I love the long-term relationships which I have with my patients over the years. We have two children – a daughter at University, and a son at secondary school. I know how precious my family are to me, so it is a privilege to provide care for others.” |
